No serious construction work is allowed during the tourist season (May to October). No building is allowed to be more than 2 ½ storeys high. High density housing is not allowed. The climate here is warm, but being in the bay a gentle breeze is refreshing to cool you down especially in the peak summer months.

In contrast to Altinkum, Akbuk is largely untouched and unspoilt by the tourist industry. We are sure you will agree it is a little piece of Heaven. The town also has several shops. Akbuk is self contained and for day to day living the local shops can provide you with most things. There are many mini supermarkets selling food and groceries, a chemist a hairdresser, several shops for electrical appliances, a hardware shop, an internet café, plumbers etc. In fact, apart from large supermarkets you can find almost anything you would require. But should you require something more, Altinkum, where all the main supermarkets and shops are based is only a short distance away.
