Documents to carry

Always carry proof of identity and your stay document with you. You will frequently have to present them to enter various public establishments and private business plazas or simply to use for your purchases when using credit card.

If you happen to be a victim of loss or theft of your identity papers, it is imperative that you report this to the nearest KARAKOL (police station) where the incident took place. Be sure to take a Turkish speaking person with you, because it is difficult to find English-speaking policeman at Karakol. The provided document will confirm your status while waiting for replacements to be issued.

Photographed ID, like passport, driver's license or residency permit, Proof of residence: rental agreement or gas, electricity or telephone bill, Copies of your diplomas/degrees (certified correct) and resume, Identity photos, Proof of financial resources: proof of a bank account in Turkey that specifies the account number and the amount available in the account -or a bank letter certifying that the account is replenished on a regular basis- or a notarized letter from a parent or guarantor attesting to financial support, for example in the case of a student or self-employed person.
