Claiming Your Pension You can claim your UK state pension while living in Turkey and even have it paid directly into your bank account. Remember, though, that it is illegal to claim UK benefits when living abroad. The Turkish pension programme covers most employed and self-employed people in the country. To qualify for a pension or benefit, you must normally have paid in to the programme for a minimum period. For example, to qualify for a Turkish old age pension at the age of 55 (or 50 for women) you would normally be expected to have built up 15 years of insured service and contributed to the pension programme for at least 3,600 days. |
